My journey to Colorado on Thursday wasn’t without its bumps, starting from the moment I forgot my Blackberry at home on my way to work in the morning. Twenty minutes down the road I had to turn around, go home, and start over. And then I realized I was locked out of the house, and had to go to the high school and get a key from Ali. Argh. Then a short delay of my flight into Midway, followed by luggage that didn’t arrive in Denver when I did.
But that’s all behind me now! My luggage was at the desk when I called upon waking, “special” beer bottles intact! It’s a beautiful morning in Boulder, with sunshine and 70s predicted for the whole weekend. (I’m sorry Cleveland. I know you have snow in your forecast.) Twitter is blowing up with #BBC10 hashtags as beer bloggers make their way to Colorado. Registration starts at noon, and things officially kick off at 2:00 p.m.
Thursday wasn’t without its high points. The driver of my Super Shuttle ride into Boulder (shoutout, Jimmy!) was nice enough to stop at the local liquor store, Bottles, for me so I could pick up a six-pack of Red Tail Ale to share tonight as part of the activities. And I enjoyed my first beer of the weekend last night (a Boulder Brewing Company Buffalo Gold) with Gerard Walen, a blogger from Clermont, Florida, who arrived yesterday as well. His blog, Road Trips for Beer, even featured a trip to Cleveland! After a good night’s sleep, I’m ready to get this party started! Stay tuned to Twitter for updates at @BrewersDaughter. And I’ll try to post here as events unfold as well. Hope you have a great weekend wherever you’re raising a glass!
