Cheers to 2012!

There are some exciting things happening in 2012–it’s only Day 3 of the new year, but it’s off to a great start!

Things began with a bang with a New Year’s Day interview of Chardon Brew Works’ Donna Nedrow, about the book club that will kick off on January 18th. “Infoman” Jim McIntyre of WDOK invited us to the studio for a chat about beer and books:

And I’m going to tell you right now to keep your eye on local Chef Kimberly McCune Gibson— she’s featured in a new Food Network show called “Fat Chef” that will begin airing on Thursday, January 26th. It’s kind of a Biggest Loser for chefs. While it’s a terrible title, I will tell you that Chef Kimberly is looking fabulous!  She is the proprietor of Hungry Bee Catering, and has plans for a new restaurant to debut in Aurora this year, called The 1815 House. I first met Chef Kim at an Emerging Chefs farm-to-table dinner in Geauga County–where we sampled her wonderful ReHIVE Ale. This week she is part of the first Cleveland graduating class of Bad Girl Ventures along with her business partner Ann Marie Larrance. Sponsored by Samuel Adams, this exciting unveiling celebration takes place on Thursday evening. I’ll be there to support the Hungry Bee team!

And as always, the new year brings another birthday to me. I’ll be celebrating with Paul and friends, and a few brews.

Cheers to a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year to you!
