Beannacht Lá Fhéile Pádraig!

by Renee on March 17, 2011

Cleveland is welcoming thousands downtown today for the city’s 144th annual St. Patrick’s Day parade, stepping off at 1 p.m. under sunny skies! It’s setting up to be the warmest day we’ve seen here on the North Coast since last fall, and what a perfect way to welcome spring. I’m working, but will slip out of the office for a little while to take in the festivities, something I’ve done for the past several years.

On my way home this evening I’ll make a stop at Parnell’s Pub on the east side to meet up with friends. My husband Paul is half Irish like me–but he has lacrosse coaching duties tonight, so we’ll have to do our celebrating together over the weekend. When I finally make it home, there is a tender corned beef brisket awaiting me in the crock pot.

The real McAuliffe family party is going to take place next week, when Jack, Cathy and I catch up to Maureen Ogle and thousands of craft brew enthusiasts in San Francisco for the Craft Brewer’s Conference. Until then, we’ll raise a pint or two and toast our fellow Irish clans-folk from County Cork to Cleveland and beyond! So get your green on, everyone’s a little Irish today!

Sláinte!

I was there in the early part of the evening. Didn’t last long after partying all afternoon 🙂

I finally went out in downtown Cleveland! I had a strange feeling I was going to see you out and about. I do not know why.

I guess I equate you with downtown Cleveland. 🙂
